La Petite Donkey Farm

Our Miniature Donkeys live on our family farm of 100 acres, and have their own space to graze and play, and a nice warm barn to hide from the flies in the summer and the cold weather in the wintertime.

We keep a small herd to insure that each and every donkey gets enough "people time", and are adequetely spoiled by our kids and ourselves. 

We, Ash & Rhonda Lampton, have each grown up living the farm life, Ash with Cattle, and Rhonda with Horses and numerous other critters.  Neither of us had ever owned or even been around miniature Donkeys, and were surprised at how totally affectionate and genuinely lovable this little creatures are.  Rhonda had 2 nice horses and though they were loved and cared for, they were just "going to waste" not being ridden, and basically being bored and getting fat and lazy.  With 3 kids at home, it was just too difficult to get out and ride, and it was too dangerous for the 2 littlest children to play in and around the barn with 2 big ol horses there.   So,we sold our horses to Rhonda's good friends, and replaced the horse manure in the pasture with Donkey manure!   After purchasing our first bred Jennet, we were hooked!  Who knew we would end up with 9 donkeys within a months time!  We are so glad we found mini donkeys for our family to enjoy....and our kids spend hours and hours hanging out with them in the barnyard.  They are so much safer, and laid back and patient with them than any other farm animal I've come across yet.  What wonderful babysitters they are!

 Yes...yet one more reason to invest in Miniature Donkeys as your family's pet!  These gentle creatures will hang out with any child...for hours, and hours, and hours.  As long as someone is paying attention to them, they will stick close by and provide entertainment and companionship to anyone, both young and old alike.  And they don't charge by the hour!
